The Sacrements

There are seven sacraments.

  • Baptism

  • Confirmation

  • Holy Eucharist

  • Reconciliation

  • Anointing of the Sick

  • Holy Orders

  • Matrimony

Baptism is rebirth in the life of God's grace.

Confirmations gives us a chance to reaffirm our faith which gives us strength to be examples to others even under stress and persecution. Young Catholics are confirmed as young adults and assume the responsibilities of adult Christians.

The Holy Eucharist is the body and blood of Christ which nourishes our soul.

Reconciliation encourages us to recognize we have sinned against God. We confess our sins to receive forgiveness and guidance in our daily struggles in a sinful world.

Anointing of the Sick reminds us of our own mortality. We can recognize the glory of God in our lives.

Holy Orders helps our clergy fulfill their roles to serve God and his people to the best of their abilities.

The sacrament of Matrimony is a promise of couples to live as one in the grace of God and create a family.  This involves a promise to God by both members in the wedding vows.
